Silhouette and Gluten Free Recipes!

Sometimes grandmothers need to apply their creativity in different ways.

My grandson turned five this month and he has a gluten free diet. Last time they came to visit I tried a new recipe a friend had shared (Thanks, Lynita!). It is for a chewy chocolate ball that he just loved. We call them Yum Balls. He thought they would make a good substitute for a birthday cake. Now that was the creative challenge! Picture these chocolate balls stacked up? Not an appetizing thought.

But Gramzee rose to the challenge and along with my Silhouette and the inspiration from the buggy wrapping paper, I created a "bug cake" made of Yum Balls! Perfect for a 5 year old boy!

The great part about this recipe is that these yummy balls are nutritious and delicious. We ALL like them. Here is the recipe if you want to give them a try:

Yum Balls:
Ingredients

• 1 cups almonds - shelled
• 1 cups pitted dates
• 1 cup coconut flakes (I used organic, unsweetened)
• 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
• Approximately 2 tablespoons water added slowly

Directions:

• Put almonds in food processor and chop fine
• Add dates and chop fine
• Add coconut and cocoa powder and mix well
• Drizzle 1 tablespoon of water and mix. Test. Add water until the mixture presses into 1" balls.

Alternatives: We have made them with prunes and apricots as well. I have also rolled them in confectioners sugar for a different appearance.

Adding Numbers to Alphabet Shadow Boxes

The logical extension to the alphabet is numbers. Last week I created all the files for the Number series to compliment the alphabet. I rushed these out because graduation season is here and numbers are part of the celebration!

I also made a cutting file for the little 3d graduation cap to perch on the corner.

Beyond graduation I see these as perfect decor for a nursery.

Or how about for a birthday or anniversary celebration.

The cutting files are available here in .svg, .dxf and .pdf format. I do sell them as an entire group for great savings. And I added the graduation cap as a bonus file if you purchase the entire gourd of number files.

3DCuts.com • A new website for .svg files

No, I haven't disappeared, but I have been busy. Here is the first clue.....

I have been creating letters, lots and lots of letters. But not just the letters -  also the cutting files for all 26 letters in .studio, .svg, .dxf, and .pdf  formats. Each letters has 5 layers and 6 cutting files. That is 6 files in 4 different formats or 24 files for each letter!

And... This week I launched a new website over at 3DCuts.com.

I have spent a lot of time getting it operational and it represents a few firsts for me.

• It is my first website completed in SquareSpace 6
• It is my first e-commerce space
• It is the first time I have made my cutting files available in various formats including .svg, .dxf, and .pdf.

AND

• It is the first time I have displayed my new paper crafting idea.....
• Alphabet Shadow Boxes!

The design possibilities are endless with this alphabet! What ideas do you have for it?
