Live in New England? Northampton this Weekend!

One of the very best New England Art and Craft Fairs is held every Columbus Day weekend at the fairgrounds in Northampton, MA. It is sponsored by Paradise City and well worth the trip. I'll be going along with my husband and I have visited the website, downloaded my discount entry coupons and looked at who will be showing.  I have noted the following:

First - glass work by Alex Fekete. I generally can't afford glass work but I love to look and admire.  I especially like the use of the tear drop form.

As always, I'll be checking out the potters. My collection of wonderful, eclectic and varied pottery is growing. I love entertaining and using all handcrafted serving pieces. I like these mugs by Alexandra Geller.

And nesting bowls........

I purchased a bowl by Deidre Wilson at a previous show and I may just have to get some additional sizes.  She does a beautiful job of throwing porcelain. The pieces are remarkably light, with glorious glazes.

The weather is suppose to be glorious (finally). I can't wait to go.

Cascade Tables

Made from recycled beams, these tables share so much of what I find beautiful in simplicity - but a with a balance and not too stark.

Each block is separate so this grouping could be used as a center coffee table, or split and used as stools, or as end tables. I love furniture that changes with one's needs.

They are minimal yet not cold.  The warmth of the wood adds so much. I also love how the craftspeople at Made have finished these old, beat up industrial beams into highly polished (and begging to be stroked) beautiful shapes.

Wood Clamp Shelves

If you have ever worked in a wood shop you'll recognize the inspiration for these shelf brackets. They are based on the design of the common wood clamp used in furniture making. They have been modified slightly so they can be screwed into wall studs and create a very industrial chic shelving system.

I would like to see them with a beautiful reclaimed wood plank for the shelf and sets of three staggered on a large wall.
