Tree Ring Cutting Board

Let's drift away from stones today.  I just found this cutting board at Canoe.

The site mentions that these crosscut cutting boards have gone through a special curing process that prevents them from splitting. I'd love to know how to do that because all my attempts to save wood slices have ended with significant checking. That can also be interesting - just not in a cutting board.

Splits aside - I'd love one of these.
