The style works a whole lot better on a lamp than it does on my head. I love the freedom. Not sure I'd want to dust it though!
It is created by Tom Raffield using 80 meters of steam bent strips of ash, woven coiled and twisted together. It comes in a variety of sizes and I expect each one is unique.
Delving a little deeper into Tom's site I discovered other beautiful objects from steam bent wood. I also love these flower pots.
And this lamp as well....
