Prepping for Thanksgiving • Centerpiece Design

Today was spent getting ready for tomorrow. This is Thanksgiving Central. My daughter, SIL and grandson are here for 8 days so she provided a lot of help. We are expecting 15 for dinner so all prep that can be done today has been. The list included everything from pre-cutting the turnip to taking a load to the transfer station... and everything in between.  I spent some time this afternoon getting centerpieces ready.

For materials I am using bittersweet harvested the other day from the roadside...

Shafts of wheat purchased from a farm stand in Pennsylvania....

and logs I have previously sliced on an angle, debarked and drilled....

Here is the test arrangement....

Tomorrow morning I'll set the entire thing up. Maybe I'll remember to take a picture before we eat and everything is littered with after dinner debris! But then again, in spite of all my pre-planning things might get hectic and I may forget the photos!.

Happy Thanksgiving to All!
