The task was to cover the back of our arm chairs. I designed and made these chairs back in 1973 and had always planned to cover the back with matching upholstery material. I just never did.
Most recently the chairs have been near a wall so they weren't visible from the back but if you looked, one could see the stuff you shouldn't see. Behind the cushion the webbing and tacks were visible. I'd planned for it to be covered.
I even had the extra fabric in storage. (Not the original fabric. I have reupholstered twice and both times didn't finish the job!)
After rearranging my living room yesterday it became essential and moved to the top of the list. Today, I disasembled these chairs, stretched fabric over the back supports and attached it so now it looks better from both the front and back. No reason to do a tutorial because absolutely no one else has chairs like these!
Bottom line.... That is what blogging has done for me. Inspires me to finish.
